china cabinet to buffet?

A buffet or is it?

This project started out different.
But because of demands from customers it was rethought into something else.
I got this china cabinet from my friend. Liz when we visited Texas last summer.
Yes, maple. That of course had to change.
Out comes the Annie Sloan Paris Gray chalk paint.

Ahhh beautiful.

And although it looked great in the booth and served me well holding items to sell it just did not sell.
Main reason?  It was short in stature.  Yes, shortness even affects china cabinets.
After the booth closed it went to the garage until I talked hubby into chopping off the top and making it a buffet.
Yes we did do that.
But doesn't she look beautiful?  She can be used in many more ways now.
Hmmm, a buffet or a sink base for an awesome bath remodel.
I hope someone takes her home to love.

Have you ever chopped a piece of furniture up into a totally different use?

  1. Looks great! I'm sure someone else will fall in love with it! So my big question is what are you going to do with the top half?

  4. yes,i have done some crazy. I have found that Paris Gray sometimes is a tough sell. I had a 4 items that I painted Paris Gray and I have painted 2 a different color and then they sold...I sometimes don't get it,as such a neutral color and blend with so much..But if after 6mo not selling time to do something different. My wardrobe is posted on my blog, and when I redo I will post and we will find out if the change in color makes it sell.....In our part of texas China cabinets in white selllllll
