Junkin' at Clines with the family

After we met up with Liz and F.A from the Brambleberry Cottage at Gibson Mills in Concord we headed on over to Clines in Mt. Pleasant.  Now remember my first time there I was very overwhelmed but with all the knowledge Liz gave me I felt like a pro this time and it was fun to introduce hubby to it.  The kids I might add were in heaven- they found a cool old merry-go-round kinda like the teacups that you sat in and turned the wheel to make it spin- they were on that for a long time.
We managed to find some treasures and here they are:
Some chairs,

 Some cornice boards

I looked at these the first time I went but knew they wouldn't fit in my car so I got them this time.  Not to use as cornices though.  I am going to add a back and make them my flower boxes for the front porch rails.  This way I can put pots that are deep in them and they won't dry out with the pounding sun that the porch gets.

A feed sack..it is going to recover something - chair, footstool or maybe a pillow.

A small kitchen farm table - it needs some paint and love.

And another one though this one just needs some cleaning up.

A small washstand.  It needs a bottom made and some new panels for the doors then a nice cleaning up and some new paint.  Not sure we'll sell her though as we need another night stand in the bedroom and this is the perfect size.

And a long tool box, I can not decide if this will sell or stay- it is so pretty..tough decision here.
Isn't treasure hunting fun?  I love it.

  1. Oooo great finds - I've been looking for a washstand like that for ages for a bathroom sink. Oh well, I'm too far away for me to buy it off you! Can't wait to see what you do with it!!!

  2. Look forward to seeing what you make of all the treasures you found. Love the farm table. Those look great as desks. Oh, and the little nightstand cabinet is going to be sweet when you put your touch on it :)

Okay, better get working on my Christmas...

    Take care!

  4. Like your idea for the cornices. The fun of junkin is finding something different that no one else has.

  7. You found some great treasures. I like turning things upside-down, too.

I've been able to get all kinds of things crammed into my Camry. It's kind of like loading a dishwasher. If you think about it long enough, you can usually make it work.

I love, love, love the furniture that you scored!!

    Happy hunting,
    Teresa
