Glimpses of home at Chatting at the Sky

We live in the South in a historical neighborhood and being outdoors is such a big part of living here. So, usually 9 months out of the year we live on our porches. Here is our front porch. We watch the world go by and enjoy neighbors company on this porch. Many an evening has started here and moved onto ordering pizza and going late into the night with some drinks and good conversation and music.
We also spend a great deal of time on the back screen porch. Basically the kids are out back and this is a great place to sit, read magazines and keep an eye on them. It is also where we BBQ and eat so many evening meals. And well of course the screen keeps away the worst part of being in the South- Mosquitoes the size of pterodactyls..

That is a glimpse into our home and how we live.
There is an ongoing little post of where we live going on at Chatting at the Sky- go check it out and enjoy.

  3. Those porches are beautiful! Spending evenings outdoors is one of the best things about warmer weather and longer days.

  4. Oh my... I love both of your porches. I miss having a front porch and being able to sit out and watch the world go by. I do have a nice covered patio in the back, that we enjoy during the warm months. I really like the look of your back porch... the drapes, the fireplace, etc... so "homey".

  6. Gorgeous outdoor spaces! We have two balconies, but in Kuwait, cannot keep anything clean for long and the poor plants suffer from all the sandstorms. I do love sitting outside and enjoy our summers in the States when I can outdoors as much as I want. Have a great day. :) Tammy PS Jingles, our cat, is trying to figure out where the birds are. HA!

  9. Wow, I am inspired by your lovely front and back porch! I am trying to spruce up my front porch (don't have a back one) but I am finding it hard to do without putting much moolah into it...however, I will do what I can and hopefully will end up with a space like you have...where I can watch the world go by and enjoy some lovely time outdoors!

    Blessings, Grace

  10. I think I am a southern girl that took a wrong turn and ended up in the midwest. I love your porches. What a beautiful glimpse of your home.
