Thrifty finds

Thursday I braved the rainy cold day with my daughter in tow to travel 50 minutes to the only other Hobby Lobby in the state of NC. We wanted to see if it was less picked over than the one in Fayetteville. Also, my sister said there were a lot of thrift stores in that town.
The hobby lobby was less picked over but had the old layout which drove me crazy- okay anal organized person that I am gets driven crazy easily when a store has not been updated to flow better. Anyway - we got all the stuff on our list from there and then some. (doesn't that always happen in HL?).
We then got some taco bell as that is how I bribe the princess to go places with me :)

Then off to the thrift stores. I was hoping to find small furniture pieces to rework and sell in May but alas they are priced too high. Gotta have yard sale season hit and then hit some auctions for that stuff I guess.

I did find some smalls though:

These all glass - older lamps - that work for $10 a piece. They came with ugly shades that need to be reworked.
Got this urn for $3, the gravy boat for $1.88 and the skirt for $3. Gonna paint the urn and put a moss ball in it. Gonna turn the gravy boat into a bird feeder and then turn the adorable skirt to a pillow.
Got the cheese domes for future cloches for $3 a piece, and the glass pieces for future pedestal bases for $1 a piece and another skirt in the background for my daughter an upcycled skirt.
This jumper was $3 and we are going to do another upcycled skirt from it. Can't wait as it is so cute with the apples.
And these apothecary jars came from Target online for $3.5o a piece. Gonna do birds nest displays in them.
That's it for us this weekend. I seriously need to get my butt moving this week. Should be easier as the kids will all be back in school (older one has had two weeks off for exams) so I should crank out some projects to show this week. Hope all is well for you and enjoy your weekend. We are off for Saturday basketball..wooo hoo!

  3. Oh Tammy sweetie...
You did some serious shopping today. I love the lamps, and I can't wait to see the jumper reworked. Love the apples. Doesn't it just say Spring? Love it.

Lovin that you too like Taco Bell, ding, ding. I love it. Always have. (I remember when they first opened in our small town and they served a taco bell burger. I loved it and was so sad when they stopped making it. It was like a sloppy joe, but was the best thing on their menu.)

Have a beautiful Saturday sweetie. Thanks for sharing. Country hugs from Country Wings in Phoenix. Love, Sherry
