Maple again - only a table this time

Still working on sister's living room and this is the end table that was left in the house by the former felons who rented. It was on of those tables that had the little attached half top that looked like a mailbox on top of it. Funny as when she moved in it had lots of letters from the former renters to her boyfriend in jail..ahhh funny. Okay back to this post.
So, I took the ugly bread box/mail box top off. It was just held on by screws. Than I sanded the whole thing to get the grime and the nasty finish off of it. Then I filled the holes with wood putty and sanded a bit more.
Next was a coat of primer..looking much better.
Then came about 3 coats of paint, some distressing, some glaze and voila!
Here she is in all her lovely glory.
Here is a bit of the detail. I think she looks good and will look awesome in her new home.
