For once and for all - figure out your decorating style.

What is your decorating style? Do you know?
Do you waver between certain types and are confused as to which way you should go?
Do you get tied down trying to be "what is in"?Well check out Cindy's post at Cottage Instincts.
I have taken many test to figure out what "style" I am and I never fit into on style.

But the way she breaks it down is so amazingly simple.
I am going to be doing this one evening when the kiddos go back to school.
I know what I like but I tend to get caught up in the "likes" versus the "loves".
Cindy addresses this exact problem.

So, go on over and I am sure you will be thankful you found the post and took charge of your homes decorating style.

  1. I'm baaaaack. :)

Tammy, I wanted to ask you a question. How do I get your new name "Tattered and Timeless" to show up in my blogroll? I have tried removing "For the love of older homes...and the journey they entail" and then adding your blog again, but it still shows up w/ the old name. Any ideas?

And thanks for sending us on over to Cindy's. You know I have M-PDD - Multi-Personality Decorator's Disorder.

  2. Tammy, I blogged about Cindy's post yesterday too! I was captivated, my mouth open, as I read every single word. She made it seem so very clear.
I think that post is going to spread like wildfire... it is a perfect manual for someone that is 'lost' like myself!

Loving your blog, can't wait to see what 2010 brings for you. I am stalking all of you girls for inspiration so my home can become a more beautiful version of what it currently is. :)

  3. I just read my comments... duh, hello. You stopped by yesterday. Thank you. :) (good thing you know I'm an idiot newbie, or you would think I was a total moron!)

I'm swooning over the books you mentioned.
    Have a great day,

  4. Thanks for the shout out....I need to re-read my post again because just this morning as I sat surrounded by miscellaneous decor trying to put my house back together after the holidays I became completely overwhelmed.

Perhaps I should have mentioned the first step is always to take a deep breath and keep it all in perspective. *smile*

  5. I agree. The post is one of the best I've ever read.

And after I read Amy's after that, I had a dream last night that I went to the library and got all these books and then was frustrated I couldn't rip out the pages to keep! And then I woke up. :)

I'll have to go back to Dear Cindy and address this! LOL
