My Christmas gifts

Well I got some awesome gifts from loved ones and wanted to share them with you.
My favorite gift - and I know you should not have a favorite but being a mom anything with my kids on it makes me smile and cry all at the same time - so this is my fave.
My sister- the artist- made me a canvas of my kids. It is about 2 feet by 4 feet tall. She painted the background and then put images of the kids all over it. She did older photos and newer photos and I can tell you it made me cry. I started crying again when I took a photo of it to post on here. The photo's do not do it justice as my camera is not the greatest.
Here is a close up. Look at those cutie patooties.

Look at the loves of my life. Nothing better for a mom than to have all the memories of her kids around her. Wow this is making me cry right now. I am such a sucker for my kids.

Next my hubby and wonderful kids got me this camera. Now I need to learn to use it so there shouldn't be any reason pictures in 2010 should look crappy. And if they do it is all user error not equipment error. Such pressure I am putting on myself. My mom got the Canon Rebel and fortunately my very talented photography sister-in-law is visiting next week from England. Mom and I have already booked tutorial lessons. Thanks in advance Megan.

And some may think getting pots and pans is weird. But after our lovely kitchen remodel my "have had them since marriage over 19 years ago" revere pans have seen better days. So, I wanted some nice new shiny stainless pans and my mom got me a few to build upon. Notice the difference?

Did you get fun and useful items?

  1. What an awesome gift from your SIL! I can't imagine the work (or love) that went into that. It is truly extraordinary.
PS Have the very happiest New Year ever!

  2. What great gifts. I got a handy dandy printer with scanner that I haven't used yet. My 14 year old hooked it all up so it's ready to go. I certainly hope it is self-explanatory when it comes to scanning. Have a great day! Tammy

  3. I love this! I did something similar by making Christmas ornaments with each family members photo on different ones and my mom was so thrilled. I will have to remember this idea for next year.
    Your SIL was very thoughtful.

  4. Hi Tammy,
I just found your blog. It is great! I love the gift from your sister. So personal... I can understand why you cried. :)

Good luck with the new camera... that is on my wishlist for 2010!

  5. That is such a lovely gift from you SIL. She is so talented. Very special. The camera is awesome and I understand wanting pretty pans. If you have a pot rack, you've gotta have stainless and copper pots. Teflon just isn't eye candy!

  6. Oh wow that is a fantastic gift!

  7. I will take the camera!!! LOL Nice gift! I would like a nicer camera some day too. My son has a wonderful Canon camera.

I can see why the SIL gift made you cry!! I would cry too.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy New Year!!

  8. ALL of your gifts were fabulous!! Something for the heart, something for the creative, something for the practical and creative. Just about covered it all, I'd say. I'll be looking forward to seeing you Thursday!

  9. I am glad that you loved your gift. I admit I got a little teary-eyed while making it. It's true what they say- they grow-up so fast.

  10. Looks like a great Christmas! I LOVE your picture your sis did. I also love your stockings. I too got a camera. Be sure to drop by soon, as I will be chatting up my Christmas gifts.
