Next project...office/butlers pantry redo?

Well the next project is this small space. It is called a butler's pantry in our house. Back when women had help - well we know that isn't happening in my house now-a-days. So, since the butler has taken a long vacation from our household I thought it would make a great computer/bloggy office for me. It sits between the kitchen (which I am in too much) and my craft studio so the location is great. It has this built in hutch which is great for storage but the bottom with the two drawers and two doors is not so wonderful to do the computer at - hurts the back.
If you look closely you will see that I took one door off so I could scoot my chair up to the top to use my laptop..but just not the look I am going for really. Do you blame me. So, I will be thinking about how to fix the bottom to work for a comfy chair to slide under and then organize the crap out of it.

All the dishes have been removed except the top shelf which houses the Christmas dishes..They need a ladder to be reached so figured I would not be storing office stuff there anyway.
Hmmmm what should I do? Thoughts anyone? Check back and see what happens.

  2. If you want to learn how to knit, you should check out this book on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Needlework-Editors-Readers-Digest/dp/0895770598
You can get it for a penny! I am pretty much self taught. I also use the Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing. So much fun and has everything you could ever need! Ok, just thought I'd tell ya just in case you actually did want to learn how to knit =)

  3. Tammy I think my butler left on vacation with yours...their laying on the warm beach in Mexico somewhere ha ha!! How neat it would be just to have this extra space...How about putting a curtain at the bottom where you took off the cupboard door and matching valances at the glass front cabinet doors...I did that to my kitchen and just love the looks of it and I can change it out when I did tired of looking at it...Just me thinking out loud again ha ha!! Many Blessings to you this coming year my friend...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

  9. What a fab space...your so lucky! We had that extra space, but my hubby put in a wine room. So even though I lost the possibility of a buttler (which never woulda happened) at least I can go in that spacea and drink wine! Haha, jk. I really have no idea, but the only thing I can think of is to make it less kitcheny and more office right? I'm thinkin' books, plants on top of the hutch. Maybe some pretty botanical prints. An office, but more femanine than your typical office.
