What the heck?

So when does doing a minor kitchen remodel of painting cabinets, new counter tops and new appliances involve removing a whole plaster wall to build a wider doorway?
When I "think" we need the biggest side by side that has ice and water in the door.
That is when.
So, now to accommodate this new pretty fridge below we have been tearing the crap out of our kitchen. We tried moving it to another place.

Notice that the corner base cabinet is not quite right? Yeah we messed it up some. Notice the upper cabinets are gone? Yeah they are on the back porch. All that and it is too deep for that area.
So, yes we have to tear down the wall - all that lathing and plaster mess so gosh darn it we can have the huge fridge with the best ice cubes and the tastiest water around. :)
Well that is what I am telling myself anyway.
More to come.

  1. Oh Tammy, I am so sorry for the mess. I've have been in similiar situations. Why do we do this to ourselves? I'm sure you will be able to look back on this someday, and laugh as you drink that ice cold cup of water! It's gonna look great!!!

  2. It is so funny how one small thing always leads to a lot of others. Just think how wonderful it will all be when it's done. Hugs, Marty

  4. I bought a house and flipped it (to sell again quickly) - and I had some grand ideas about a few spaces and ended up tearing out a bathroom, master bedroom, a closet and chimney. LOL My husband kept saying "I hope this works because there's nothing left!" Good luck to you.
