Today is Yard Sale fun with Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality..click here to go see all the fun things everyone has found this weekend. http://southernhospitality-rhoda.blogspot.com/2009/06/i-love-yardsales.html
I got a rather late start this Saturday..just very tired but I did manage to drag my butt and my daughter tagged along with me around 8. We drove to the first spot and at first we thought - hmmm doesn't look too good but we managed to snag 6 nice wooden frames for $5. Not to bad..so lots of chalkboards and such coming up soon. :)
Then we drove by one yard sale on the way to another- it didn't look like anything but clothing so we kept going. The yard sale we did hit - well it was a bust. So, we were driving back home and I swung into the one we skipped - what the heck we can look quickly..
We managed to get some nice cute things..a queen size chenille spread - gonna use it to redo a stool. A nice little milk glass bowl, a silver tray with a mirror- gonna try to etch that, and then a cross stitch picture..all for $2. Glad I swerved in there :)
On the way home we hit the School PTO thrift shop. I try to hit that often as all proceeds go to buy stuff our teachers need. Good cause- I also donate stuff too :) Anyway we got two milk glass hobnail lamps and a nice pillow that the cover comes off for $7.25. Now I just need to get two shades and the lamps will be darling. The pillow - oh I bought it for the form so I could make a nice pillow. Those pillow forms are very expensive at the fabric shops..cheaper to buy a pillow and redo it.

That was the haul for this weekend. Not too shabby at all. I did want to share with you what we got last weekend as I didn't post. We hit two sales and got the following:
2 rush seat stools for $3 each and 2 rush seat chairs for $3 each. So, the 4 items for $12 very cool. I am going to paint them out and distress them..they will look amazing.

That's it for me this weekend..next weekend I will be out of town picking up my online auction items and staying for an actual auction then lugging all those finds home...should be fun. I will share them when I get back. Until then - wake up early and hit those sales you never know what gem you might pick up.
